Grant Story Spotlight: Horizon House

Horizon House supports neighbors experiencing homelessness with integrated comprehensive services — and IndyGo Foundation bus fare grants help their clients access jobs, healthcare, and basic needs.

Horizon House supports neighbors experiencing homelessness with integrated comprehensive services so they can secure and maintain housing. They prioritize connecting neighbors to permanent housing without preconditions or barriers to entry to support long-term stability and prevent returns to homelessness.

The majority of their clients count on public transportation to access their basic needs like food, health care, and jobs. We're proud to support by reducing barriers to transportation for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

"A client who has been enrolled in our employment program received assistance with bus passes to attend interviews with several area employers. They were offered a job and was provided with a bus pass to complete orientation. Upon receiving their initial schedule, this client was assisted with bus passes to complete their shifts until the first pay day. They have now been employed over 60 days."
